Description
Morphology: Small or moderate tree. Leaves small, smooth surface, intricately with the rounded lobed, base are caudate, rounded to acuminate at the tip, and serrate at the margins. Flowers with a separated of male and female catkins. The fruits are deep purple, white or pink, sweet taste and their seeds were dispersed by birds.
Ecological distribution: Native to Asia especially from Himalaya foothill to China and Japan. Widely cultivated in China and India for silk industry.
